Department of Urology

Urology is a surgical specialty which deals with diseases of the male and female urinary tract and the male reproductive organs, including the kidney, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, testis, penis and scrotum. Urology covers diagnosis and treatment for both adults and children. We provide both surgical and non-surgical care for a wide range of urologic conditions including bladder, kidney, and prostate cancer, stones, erectile dysfunction, and infertility.

Every member of our clinic is committed to optimizing our members' Urologic care. Our staff and physicians work together in a closely-knit professional family. Sharing common values of compassion, independent thinking, collegiality, and good humor, we hope to always maintain and improve our highly rated level of quality, service, and care. We hope that when you visit our clinic, you will feel welcome and well cared for. Any suggestions for improvements are always welcome (as are compliments for a job well done!)

We are pleased to offer this web site as a means to provide helpful medical information for our patients, as well as an opportunity for you to learn more about us.

To learn more about the physicians working in the Department of Urology in Sacramento/Roseville, please click on the "Clinicians" link on the navigation bar to your left.

We are a Referral-only department. Many urologic problems can be treated by your primary care physician or nurse practitioner (NP). Your primary care physician or NP can refer you to a urologist when necessary. If you are experiencing urologic problems, please call an advice nurse or contact your personal physician or nurse practitioner through the Appointment and Advice Call Center at 916-973-5243. If you do not have a personal care provider, contact Member Services at (800) 278-3329 or click here.

Your first visit to our department generally will involve only an evaluation and discussion. If you would benefit from a surgical procedure, it will be scheduled for a later date.

For recurrent or ongoing problems already under treatment in our department, call us directly to schedule an appointment. This web site is designed to offer information for our patients and give them the ability to link to other sites of interest. Please feel free to contact us with your feedback and suggestions of other areas of interest you would like to see added to this web site.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
