Welcome to the Department of Anesthesiology

We administer all types of regional and general anesthesia. In addition, our department provides an acute pain service that administers immediate post-operative pain management. We also offer a multi-disciplinary team to help patients with chronic pain manage their conditions.

Our skilled and caring team includes board certified anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA). We are experts in adult and pediatric anesthesiology. Many of our staff are specially trained in specific areas which insures that our patients are receiving the most current and safe anesthetic available.

Our department has several members that volunteer their anesthesia services throughout the third world. Our policy is to support our staff to share their skills with others not as privileged as our ourselves.

Our department offers a pre-operative clinic to assess your medical condition in preparation for surgery. A member of our department will also see you on the day of surgery.

Mission Statement

We will deliver the standard of anesthesia consultation by being accessible and available for providing the highest quality anesthesia with a focus on internal and external customer satisfaction.

Our department is committed to excellence. We are interested in providing the safest anesthesia services and the best service possible. We are all committed to each patient from the time they enter the hospital until the time they leave.

Our department works as a team. There are Anesthesiologists, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), and anesthesia technicians who work together to provide high quality anesthesia consultation to patients. Each patient will be cared for in the procedure room, operating room, or labor and delivery by a dedicated anesthesia provider. CRNAs are directed by an anesthesiologist. Every provider has immediate backup for difficult situations and emergencies. There is an Anesthesiologist in charge, who manages the flow of patients in the operating room, ensures every patient is adequately prepared for suregery, monitors the progress of procedures throughout the day, monitors the recovery room, and consults for the anesthetic needs throughout the hospital. There are several unassigned providers who assist the Charge Anesthesiologist and enable our department to be maximally available for the anesthetic needs of the hospital. The technicians ensure proper equipment function and provide technical support for the needs of every provider to ensure seamless service and high quality anesthesia for every patient. Our team oriented approach allows for the highest quality and service available from an anesthesia department. There is an anesthesiologist and CRNA in the hospital at all times. Should extra providers be needed outside of normal business hours, there are several providers on call who will come to the hospital and provide the needed support.

Statement of Regulatory Compliance: Our department complies with all regulatory requirements to ensure a safe environment of care for our patients.

Please use the subjects listed in the left margin for further information about our Department and the services it provides.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
