Our Mission Statement...

The Pediatrics Department at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center is dedicated to providing quality medical care and service to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years of age. Our pediatric staff is highly trained and experienced in pediatric and adolescent medicine. To receive constant care and service, we strongly encourage patients and their parents to choose a personal pediatrician or pediatric nurse practitioner.

The Pediatric department is organized into a four-module system (A, B, C, D). This allows for better continuity of care for patients. Your personal physician works closely with their associate physicians within the module. This assures that if you cannot be seen by your primary care provider, you will be seen by one of their associates and any problems or issues that you have will be conveyed to your personal provider. This also assures that your care will be provided by a small group of providers who will gain familiarity with you to provide the best possible care.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
