WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ONCOLOGY AND HEMATOLOGY!

The Oncology and Hematology Service is a subspecialty of the Department of Medicine and Family Practice. We provide specialty care for patients with carcinoma and blood disorders. Oncologists are doctors who specialize in the treatment of cancers. Hematologists are doctors and scientists who are specialists in blood diseases including: anemia, leukemia, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and other blood disorders.

Your primary care physician refers you to an oncologist or hematologist when you have an oncology or hematology problem. The oncology/hematology department is dedicated to providing quality medical care and service to adults, 18 years and older.

Our mission is:

  • Personalized care in a safe manner
  • Timely, courteous and professional service
  • Guidance to our patients in using health care services
  • Education and support to help patients achieve a healthy lifestyle
  • Quality care in a cost effective manner
  • Recognizing and respecting cultural diversity within our patient population

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
