Welcome to the Department of Plastic Surgery

Here at the Department of Plastic Surgery at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael, while we do not offer the full variety of cosmetic services many people associate with plastic surgery, we do offer the full range of reconstructive techniques which help to alleviate the suffering or deformity which result from birth defects, trauma, cancer surgery, and other conditions.

In addition, we are expert in surgery of the hand, and share these duties with the Department of Orthopedics. We interact closely with our colleagues in other Departments to help solve surgical or wound care problems.

Our surgeons are current, innovative, known and respected in the professional community, and of course Board Certified or Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery.

We pride ourselves on our dedication to service, and in fact regularly volunteer to provide reconstructive surgery to needy patients at home and abroad. We have a staff that shares our dedication and enthusiasm for the wonderful specialty of which we are so lucky to be a part.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
