It is our pleasure to welcome you to the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the San Rafael Medical Center. We are comprised of 14 board certified obstetrician/gynecologists, 9 nurse practitioners and a dedicated staff of registered nurses and medical assistants. We offer a full range of obstetrical and gynecologic services, including high risk prenatal care, at our offices at the medical center in Terra Linda as well as satellite offices in Novato, Petaluma and Mill Valley. Patients have the option of delivering their babies at the Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Rosa or at the tertiary care perinatal center at Kaiser, San Francisco.

Our hardworking staff and physicians are proud of the many achievements we have garnered on behalf of our patients and we hope to always set the standard for high quality service and care. Our physicians strongly believe in minimally invasive surgery and hysterectomy alternatives. We pioneered the use of HydrothermAblation for the office management of abnormal uterine bleeding and were the first to use this technology clinically on the West Coast. The hysterectomy rate at Kaiser San Rafael is 1/3 the State of California average. In addition, the majority of our patients who elect sterilization are having the minimally invasive office based Essure procedure which requires no incision. And finally, our department consistently is rated number one in the entire Kaiser Northern California Region in satisfaction by our patients. We are grateful to our patients and welcome all to visit our department home pages and individual provider's web sites.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
