About Our Department
The Radiation Oncology Department is located at the Santa Clara Medical Center - Homestead campus in the Cancer Treatment Center (CTC). The CTC can be reached by entering the Homestead Campus and crossing the bridge to the west side of the Calabazas Creek. Parking is available directly in front of the CTC.
The Radiation Oncology department specializes
in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our
skilled staff is made up of caring specialists and
therapists who perform thousands of radiation
treatments every year. Our Advanced Equipment
and techniques further help ensure that you
receive high-quality care and treatment.
A few kinds of radiation procedures are available only as part of highly specialized programs at select universities and hospitals. In addition to providing the services offered at most advanced radiation facilities, the Cancer Treatment Center in Santa Clara provides the following specialized services as a designated Center of Excellence within Kaiser Permanente:
- Treatment of children (pediatric radiation oncology)
- Complex surgical high dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR)
The department incorporates modern linear accelerators, high dose-rate afterloader, and imaging technology for delivery of state of the art radiation therapy.
Available services include high dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR), three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT). Our staff works closely with physicians in other departments, including Pediatric Oncology, Medical Oncology, Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Dermatology, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urology to provide high quality cancer care in an integrated setting.
