Since its founding in 1948, the Kaiser Foundation Rehabilitation Center (KFRC) has provided treatment for thousands of patients with acquired neurological disorders, trauma, and neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions. KFRC is the CARF-accredited, regional center for rehabilitation of Kaiser members in Northern California. Serving three million members, KFRC offers an interdisciplinary approach to promote independent functioning and community reintegration, fostering productive lifestyles and wellness for the persons served.
Forty-eight acute inpatient rehabilitation beds are in operation. As a rehabilitation hospital, care is provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Therapy is provided at a minimum of three hours per day and consists of a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Persons served by KFRC have access to the full range of clinical and support services available at the Vallejo Medical Center.
In the outpatient center, physiatrists provide consultative care, perform electrodiagnostic studies, and follow some patients discharged from the rehabilitation center. Our outpatient programs include spasticity management, gait evaluation, brain injury rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, post-polio, and amputee programs.
