My Biography

I was born in New London, Connecticut (I'm a Coast Guard baby). My family relocated to San Francisco, then Fremont, where I attended high school. After completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I returned to live in San Francisco to be closer to the beach and still stay in close contact with my family in Fremont.

I started my nursing career at Kaiser San Francisco in the inpatient HIV unit during the late 1980’s. I then transferred to Home Health, then later the Nephrology subspecialty module where I worked with patients with chronic kidney disease. I now work as a Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator in the Nephrology Specialty Department. I enjoy working with post kidney transplant patients and helping them learn how to live a healthy life after their transplant.

One of the best aspects of practicing at Kaiser Permanente is our electronic health record, which connects us to our patients’ other providers. Also, the Nephrology Specialty Department’s partnership with UCSF doctors increases our resources and knowledge and helps us give the best care possible to our patients.

In my spare time, I love to garden and work on my house with my fiancé. I collect and grow rare plants, orchids, and cacti. I love animals, and have three dogs, one cat, and a 55-gallon aquarium.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
