My Biography
While attending graduate school in the Bay Area, I learned that Kaiser’s training program had a great reputation. After I completed my training, I was lucky enough to be hired full-time. I have the chance to work with providers who possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise. We have a supportive, collaborative team approach in this department. I appreciate the opportunity to work with San Francisco’s diverse population. I get to see patients who present an incredible spectrum of interesting cases. For example, people express depression and anxiety in a myriad of ways, so it is essential to learn how to deal with each individual and their symptoms in a personalized manner tailored to the patient’s needs. I also enjoy learning about my patients’ cultures, and I try to incorporate an individual’s cultural and spiritual beliefs into the treatment plan.
I get the most enjoyment out of my practice knowing that I have been a part of the healing process. Few things are as gratifying as watching a patient leave the office feeling some degree of relief from the pain that prompted their visit. My areas of interest are broad. Though I would consider myself a generalist, I am a member of the Women’s Health Team, the Neuropsychological Assessment Team, and the LBGT team. Some of the more common issues I treat include anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns.
When I’m away from the medical center, I like to hike, kayak, listen to and play music, and teach my dog agility routines. To thrive, I try to use my sense of humor and endeavor not to take life too seriously. It helps to keep a stash of chocolate handy!

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
