I am proud to be a member of such an outstanding department and the medical group here at Kaiser Permanente Central Valley. I believe that all people deserve adequate medical treatment regardless of their background or economic circumstances. I feel honored to provide the best orthopedic care I can to all my patients.

About Me

I obtained my medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, Loma Linda, CA. I completed my internship and residency from Loma Linda University Medical Center. I was in private orthopedic practice in Auburn, California for 28 years. I started working at Kaiser Permanente half time in 2001 and started working full time in January 2004.

With a vast array of specialties that one could go into, I chose Orthopedics specifically because of my love for fixing broken things. As a child, it was a thrill to take things apart and put them back together and they actually worked! I have always had mechanical interests coupled with a fascination for the Sciences and Math. So Orthopedics has been the perfect venue to give back to others from the gifts that God has given me.

When there has been an injured extremity, I enjoy seeing the end results of accurate, skillful care as restoration takes place; when the outcome of good medicine manifests in returning the injured part to original functional levels.

When I am not practicing medicine, I enjoy whitewater rafting, fly-fishing, riding motorcycles on immigrant trails, and traveling.

My Philosophy of Care

Every day there is always something new in Orthopedics. I originally went into heart medicine, but changed to Orthopedics because I enjoyed the unique daily challenge that every case presents. Every patient is an individual with unique needs. The challenge of meeting those needs constructively and accurately is what keeps my enthusiasm for my craft. It is very fulfilling to see a patient that has come in broken leave with the hope of restored mobility and function.

Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement has been of special interest to me. I enjoy serving my patients; doing the best I can to do what Orthopedic physicians do best, fix broken parts and return them to wellness. I work hard to earn your confidence and do the best job possible for you, the patient.

New patients in the Department of Orthopedics are seen by referral from your personal physician or nurse practitioner. Your personal physician or nurse practitioner will book your appointment with us directly during your appointment with them. In some cases, one of our nurses will call you directly for an appointment. Follow-up visits are scheduled as needed.
