I grew up in Mainland China and received my medical degree from Shandong Medical University in Jinan, P.R. China. I received my Master's degree in Immunology at the Beijing Medical University and stayed on as an instructor. I also met my wife there.

In 1989, I came to the United States, attended Duke University in North Carolina, and since have become an avid basketball fan. After obtaining my Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology and Genetics, I did brain tumor research at the University of Pennsylvania and soon realized that I wanted to direct my goal to becoming a physician and interact with patients.

My academic career shifted and I completed my internship and residency training at the Abington Memorial Hospital in the suburb of Philadelphia before joining Kaiser Milpitas.

I am board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and am a member of the American College of Physicians. I speak fluent Mandarin.

On weekends, I enjoy spending time with my family and practicing my culinary expertise for my family and friends. I am very proud of my two children, Emily and Christopher. In my spare time I enjoy a good soccer match with friends and watching sports.

My Credentials

Medical school Shandong Medical University, Jinan, China
Residency Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, PA
Residency Hahnemann University Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
