Welcome To My Home Page

What is my Specialty?

My specialty is Obstetrics and Gynecology. I enjoy caring for patients in all the different phases of their lives: teens, young women, motherhood, perimenopause and beyond. Each phase has its own challenges for a woman and I like to be there to help you.

What is important to me in caring for patients?

As a patient, each person has her own individual background, concerns and personal goals for medical care. I will provide as much information as I can as to alternatives, benefits and downsides of each option and how well each may work. We talk together to try and find an approach that suits you.

I also believe in patients helping themselves become healthier by eating better, exercising and smoking cessation. We have programs that can help you reach your goals.

Why I Enjoy Working for Kaiser Permanente

I started with this medical group in 1994. My time here has been incredibly rewarding. I have a terrific panel of interesting, enjoyable patients. On-site at KP Rancho Cordova we have great support from pharmacy, labs and imaging. My colleagues and co-workers are bright, compassionate and fun too. This makes providing good medicine easier for me and my patients.

Something about me

Outside of Kaiser I also "have a life". My husband and I live in a 1904 home that we are working on restoring. My husband teaches community college chemistry for pre-nursing students. My daughter just started teaching middle school science. We enjoy traveling (especially to the tropics), gardening, bird watching , snorkling and wine-tasting.

I grew up in Southern California where I went to high school, college, graduate school and medical school. My husband and I came to Sacramento for my residency in ObGyn at UC Davis. After that I came to work at Kaiser in Rancho Cordova. I often fly back and forth to Southern California to see my family and the friends we have there.

Getting in touch with me.

Above are my regular hours. If I am away from the office, on Labor and Delivery, in the operating room or on vacation, one of our nurses or one of my colleagues will usually respond to your concerns when I am not there. The the best way to reach me is at 916-631-3080. The Call Center can take a detailed message for me and it will reviewed the same day at the Rancho Womens' Health Office. The Call Center can also help you with appointments and questions. Refills are most easily done by calling or emailing the Pharmacy. You are welcome to e-mail me. I answer my e-mail when I am at my desk, but emails may be unanswered while I am away.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
