My Qualifications
Prior to medicine, I studied business, engineering, marketing, and finance. I earned a Bachelor of Industrial Administration at GMI Institute, graduating with the cum laude honor. I earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. I employed my business skills in marketing and advertising for several years prior to deciding to study medicine. Although I attended medical school in California, I completed the remainder of my medical training in Colorado. While there, I published a research study on autism and served as Chief Resident. I belong to the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society.
My Healthcare Practice
My medical specialty is psychiatry, with a sub-specialty in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. I selected psychiatry because of the tremendous role mental health plays in the quality of our lives. I believe mental health is essential for maximal enjoyment of our lives and full realization of our goals.
With mental health, like many aspects of life, the sooner we address concerns, the sooner we can resolve them. As such, I have specialized in psychiatric care for children and adolescents. It is exciting and rewarding to work with kids and their families who are working to build healthy futures.
I have enjoyed being part of the Kaiser Permanente team since 2003. I appreciate being able to focus my energy on helping patients and their families, while others focus on administrative duties. I appreciate on-line access to the most current pharmacological data and medical research, as well as Kaiser Permanente’s emphasis on patient education. I agree with the Kaiser Permanente focus on health prevention and maintenance, and am proud to be part of this proactive team. I joyfully look forward to doing my part to keep Kaiser Permanente as the best choice for health care.
My Outside Interests
I have always loved California, from its southernmost tip to its northernmost point, through the deserts, valleys, mountains, forests, and ocean. I enjoy exploring our beautiful state, in addition to cooking, reading, painting, hiking, golf, and scuba.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
