About Me

I was born in Illinois and raised in Taiwan for a few years before returning to the United States. I lived in San Diego before venturing to the east coast for medical school at Temple University. After medical school, I returned to California and completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at UC Davis. I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2002.

My Credentials

Medical school Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA
Internship UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Residency UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA
Board certification Obstetrics and Gynecology, American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Practice Philosophy

I believe in compassionate and comprehensive care. Not only do I get to be involved with one of the most exciting things in my patient's lives - the birth of a child, but I also participate in their gynecologic healthcare before and after. My practice includes girls in their teens and women of all ages. We discuss many different health care topics ranging from birth control and STD prevention to pre-pregnancy counseling, pregnancy care, and postpartum topics. Also, we talk about menstrual concerns, weight loss, infertility and menopause issues, just to name a few. As well, I am skilled in general gynecologic procedures so if surgery happens to be the best option for you, this is another avenue that we can explore.

My goal is for you to be as healthy as you can be. I am a big believer in prevention and healthcare maintenance. Kaiser Permanente has great resources for patient education such as the links on this website as well as patient education groups. We have classes for just about every healthcare topic you can think of and this is awesome! With knowledge comes power and you can become more involved in your healthcare. We can work together as a team to achieve your healthcare goals.

Outside interests

My interests include tennis, mountain biking and traveling. I also enjoy photography, arts and crafts, and various home improvement projects.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
