My Biography

The breadth aspect of the surgery practice drew me to Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. Here, I have the opportunity to deliver the most updated therapeutic intervention and the most advanced techniques for patient management, with a minimum of conflict or red tape. This means that I can provide the type and level of care that I want and that the patient requires. I also enjoy a collegial professional relationship with staff members.

I believe in incorporating hybrid approaches into endovascular care. One benefit of my approach is that I am able to treat patients with severe co-morbidities that might otherwise be deemed inoperable. Endovascular procedures have a direct impact on patient recovery time, and they reduce the rate of complications as compared with open operations. Additionally, I also support the taking of medications and physical activity modifications in treating blood vessel diseases. Prevention is also a significant factor in thwarting both further deterioration and other obstacles to progress.

I hold special interests in bioengineering and technology. Kaiser Permanente employs the most novel technologies for endovascular intervention. I have specialty training in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Vascular Intervention. My intent is to provide minimally invasive therapy for patients with vascular disease.

I participate in charity work in Brazil, with hospital administrations. I enjoy golf, swimming, and running. I frequent farmer’s markets, where I purchase organic produce, and I aim for a solid work/life balance, a balance that is easy to achieve while working at Kaiser Permanente.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
