“The preservation of health is a duty. Few seem conscious that there is such a thing as physical morality.”-- Herbert Spencer

My Qualifications

Here is a brief synopsis of my extensive and diverse medical background. I was born and raised in Romania. I graduated in 1991 from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. I came to the United States in 1996 and this represented a fundamental change in my professional and personal life. At that time, I was also involved with research studies in Physical Medicine and Child Psychiatry here in California in the Bay Area. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine in Massachusetts in 2002. Overall, I have more than thirteen years of successful and rewarding experience as a physician.

My Credentials

Medical school Universidad De Medicina Si Farmacie - Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania
Internship University of M.S.achusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA
Residency University of M.S.achusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA
Board certification Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine

My Healthcare Practice

I am an Internal Medicine physician and I work as a Hospital-Based Specialist at Roseville Kaiser Hospital. What this means is that I specialize in caring for the very sick, hospitalized adult patients that suffer from any acute or chronic disease. I also provide medical expertise for the patients that undergo operations by working together with the surgeon in a multidisciplinary team approach.

I chose this field of medicine because I enjoy the challenge and I like using my knowledge and skills to the service of the very ill and unfortunate. Nothing is more rewarding to me than seeing my patients getting better as a result of my treatment and seeing the smiles back on their faces and on the faces of their loved-ones as they leave the hospital. I am very appreciative for the privilege of making a difference.

A message I would like to send to my patients is that I am here to serve you in the best way possible. We will work together with your family to formulate the best treatment approach for you and the best plan for you after you leave the hospital. I personally believe that prevention is the key for future thriving. Prevention includes lifestyle modifications and periodic screening. But also, once a disease has been diagnosed, this includes compliance with the medical treatment, advice, and follow-up in order to reduce and eliminate future complications or hospitalizations. I will work very closely with you to formulate a plan in order to achieve this goal.

Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

My practice philosophy is to provide my patients with the care and attention I would like my family members to receive if they were in a similar situation, based on the most advanced medical evidence, technology, and the nationally recognized standards of care. I have learned that in the context of the current challenges our national health system is facing, only Kaiser Permanente can realistically provide the appropriate setting for such high quality of care. This is why I decided to join Kaiser Permanente back in 2002 and to choose this health plan for my family. It is my strong intention to continue to be a proud Kaiser Permanente physician until the day I retire.

Many people don’t know what makes Kaiser Permanente successful and unique. I think one of the reasons is the tremendous effort Kaiser Permanente makes to recruit the best physicians from all over the country. I had the opportunity to be interviewed in Boston by one of the Chiefs of Medicine who was directly involved in the careful selection process. Later on, I was extremely impressed when I came to know the credentials and expertise of my Kaiser Permanente colleagues.

Another area where Kaiser Permanente is investing enormous resources is in data gathering and research. Kaiser Permanente puts a lot of effort into continuously determining the changing needs of our patients in order to formulate the best approach to serve their needs. We have continuously updating guidelines and pathways for treating our patients, strict safety guidelines and monitoring to prevent medical errors, elaborate preventive strategies and services, informative clinics for the patients, as well as highly specialized clinics for treating chronic diseases. We have high accessibility and readily available technology. As a physician at Kaiser Permanente, I always recommend what is best for my patients and I never have to restrict care due to cost issues. This is the only place I know of where I can have as much freedom to do what I think is right. As part of the Medicine Quality Committee, I became acquainted with the very thorough process that Kaiser Permanente uses to scrutinize every aspect of patient care. Overall, all the efforts and resources here at Kaiser Permanente are directed towards continuously improving the care we deliver to our patients.

My Outside Interests

In the end, a few words about what I like doing when I am not working. I enjoy spending time with my son, hiking and playing piano. I am an avid opera fan.
