My Practice Philosophy

I feel privileged to be a part of providing great medical care to my patients.

About Me

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii where I obtained my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and my medical degree at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in 1999. I finally decided to move away from home and completed my residency in Phoenix, Arizona at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

After residency, I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2003 and have not regretted my decision since. Growing up as a Kaiser member in Hawaii, I was able to experience great health care from patient’s standpoint and now I have the opportunity to experience it from a physician’s point of view. Not only have I been very impressed with the autonomy I have when caring for my patients but I have also been extremely pleased with the interaction with my fellow colleagues. Whenever I encounter a challenging problem, access to a specialist is a phone call or an email message away and a second opinion from a colleague is just down the hall.

I am currently a member of the California Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, Christian Medical and Dental Society, as well as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. I am board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. I also volunteer at the Community Pregnancy Center in Mountain View and am interested in medical missions abroad. During medical school I went on my first mission to El Salvador and I have since participated in two more to Honduras. I hope to continue be a part of more medical missions in the future.

My Interests

Living in the Bay Area has kept me busy with year ‘round activities, great weather and a wonderfully diverse culture. As a popular tourist destination, I am also having fun hosting friends and family who enjoy visiting the area. During my leisure time, I enjoy running, baking, cooking, watching movies, spending time with family and friends and making regular trips back to Hawaii.

I want to be certain all of your concerns are addressed. If you forget to ask a question during your visit, you may leave me a message at the above telephone number. Either, I, or my medical assistant, will return your call.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
