Biography

I began my undergraduate studies at City College of San Francisco where I received my AA degree in 1973. I then attended University of California Berkeley where I received my BS degree in Bacteriology. In the fall of 1975, I entered the Illinois College of Optometry where I graduated with my degree in 1979.

After graduation I decided to move back to the Bay Area to practice and raise my family. I joined Kaiser Fremont in 1980 and in 1985 I transferred to Kaiser Milpitas. I was named the Senior Optometrist in 1992 where my duties included managing the daily operations of his department. I am board certified by the California State Board of Optometry and has therapeutic agent privileges.

My clinical interests include advance contact lens designs and advancement in refractive surgery. I am currently a member of the management team for refractive surgery at Kaiser Milpitas, providing preoperative and postoperative care for these patients. I speak Cantonese and feels fortunate to have the ability to assist Chinese patients in their native language.

I many hobbies include gourmet-cooking, wine tasting and cycling. I am also a dedicated runner and has run many marathons over the years. The high point of my running came when I qualified and participated in the 1999 Boston Marathon. I like to bring this type of dedication and enthusiasm to the department and to provide the best care for my patients.
