How to Use My Home Page...
My Biography
I enjoy working at Kaiser Permanente because of the diversity of families I get to see in my practice. Additionally, I like Kaiser Permanente’s focus on prevention and wellness. I came to know San Francisco as an undergraduate student.
I love working with families and watching children grow over time. Now that I have two young children of my own, I have a better appreciation of the challenges involved in, for example, teaching a baby to sleep through the night! Patients make their appointments with me, so if I am on the premises, patients are assured of seeing me. I am particularly committed to immunizations; specifically, in encouraging families to be receptive to receiving vaccines during urgent care visits. I have an interest in child advocacy. As part of this volunteer work, I visit and write to legislators to promote policy that will advance the health of children and adolescents at the state and local levels.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband is a Kaiser Foundation Hospital San Francisco general surgeon, and our children provide us with much laughter. I enjoy hiking, bicycling, and downhill skiing. On the weekends you might catch me at a Cal Golden Bears sporting event. I love to read fiction and I encourage my patients' parents to share books together. Reading is one of the most important ways to enhance speech and language development.
I take care of myself by making healthy food choices, including lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and trying to get enough rest. At my house, we endeavor to have sit-down family dinners. I look forward to sharing in the care of you and your family. Be Healthy and Thrive!

Why a Pediatrician
Why a pediatrician? Why do kids need a specialist? Because kids are different. And so are the doctors that choose to take care of kids.
Pediatrics is the medical specialty that is fully focused on kids: from birth through the exciting and tumultuous years of adolescence.
Pediatricians are trained for 4 years in medical school to become a doctor and then have three full years of extra training in how to take care of kids and teens. Some pediatricians have additional training in a subspecialty area like cardiology, pulmonology, or hematology. Our department has general pediatricians and specialist pediatricians to make sure that your children stay healthy and, if they get sick, that they get the best care possible.
Pediatricians believe that your children start healthy. We are trained to focus on prevention of problems and work with families for the betterment of children. We love children and, in truth, most of us are big kids ourselves.
In the pediatric department, we look forward to caring for your family as it grows.
