My Biography:

I was raised in the Bay Area, and attended the University of California at Davis on a full UC Regent Scholarship where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry. I then received medical school training at the University of California at San Francisco, where I also completed a fellowship in clinical/therapeutic research and phototherapy. I did my residency in dermatology at SUNY-Buffalo prior to returning to the Bay Area to be with my family.

I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Santa Clara Medical Association. I have authored several scientific publications in medical journals including the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Archives of Dermatology.

I practiced in a private multi-specialty medical group prior to joining Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in 1998. I have served as a dermatology clinical instructor at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as part of the Stanford University Dermatology Residency Program until my son came along and has taken all of my free time.

I enjoy tennis, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
