My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is to always treat patients’ as I would want my family to be.

About Me

I was born and raised in Colorado and attended the University of Colorado where I received a B.S. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology. I then went on to medical school at the University of Colorado and graduated in 1980. I got interested in Dermatology because it was a visual specialty, that is, you just had to look at the skin to figure out what was going on. I've since learned that there's more to it than that, but not a lot. I did my residency in Dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco. I am board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. I've been at Kaiser since 1991 and have found it to be challenging but rewarding. I've always felt that patients need to participate in their care... a philosophy shared here at Kaiser Permanente.

My Interests

When I'm not busy attending to patients in the clinic, I enjoy photography and cooking.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
