My Biography
Kaiser Permanente San Francisco was really the only facility I considered for employment. The clinical interaction of a large multidisciplinary practice drew me, as well as Kaiser’s high level of integrated health care. With the Kaiser model, I don’t have to worry about which plans cover which types of care or deal with the business aspects of care, benefits that I consider to be a huge plus. My work is rewarding and enhances my professional growth. Helping others improve their vision is fulfilling and helps me to thrive!
Being part of the Kaiser Permanente team is special. Nowhere else in health care will you find seamless access to excellent health care across all specialties. This is especially true of our eye care departments, where we have merged the primary care department of optometry with the surgical care of ophthalmology at the 1635 Divisadero Street location. Members have immediate and coordinated access at all levels of ophthalmic service right here, right now.
When I am not in my practice, I enjoy raising my three children, participating in church and community, spending time with my family and friends, music, bicycling, softball, and baseball. That is, if there is any time left after the kids’ activities!
Many people have Laser Vision Correction done so that they are no longer dependent on glasses or contact lenses for distance vision. Individuals over 40 will still need glasses for reading after Laser Vision Correction to correct both eyes for distance.
