How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I moved to San Francisco right after graduate school to begin my practice as a physical therapist. After having worked in a variety of settings and facilities, I came to realize that Kaiser Permanente was the place I wanted to work because it enabled me to deliver the best care possible for my patients.

I believe in Kaiser Permanente’s system of care. Kaiser Permanente supports providers in allowing for professional opinion backed by evidence based-medicine to dictate care for patients. I am able to conduct my practice exclusive of financial incentives or disincentives. I also believe in the natural continuity of care that happens as a result of our integrated system. If I can not help my patient, there is another provider or service that can. The team approach to care allows for this readily at Kaiser Permanente and is such a unique strength for both providers and patients.

I went back to school in 2005 obtain my doctorate in physical therapy to learn how to do basic research within the field of physical therapy. As a result, I am in the process of developing methodology for a descriptive study for low-back pain patients. While at Kaiser Permanente over the last 10 years, I have helped to design our ‘back care solutions for expectant mothers’ class, our pediatric weight management program curriculum and currently am sitting on the medical center’s adult weight management committee.

I thrive by aiming for eight hours of sleep each night, drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly, and balancing work and play. During my spare time I enjoy road cycling, cooking, wine, and teaching spinning classes at the gym!

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
