My Biography

I received both a Bachelor of Science and my Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Washington and a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from the University of Michigan. I completed a residency and a specialty fellowship in Cardiovascular Anaesthesia and Intraoperative Echocardiography at the University of California at San Francisco. The speciality of Cardiovascular Anaesthesia encompases my longstanding interests of cardiac physiology, pharmacology, anaesthesia and clinical care. In practice since 1993, I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1998, and am a member of the American Society of Anaesthesiologists and the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists. Being a Kaiser Permanente physician has allowed me the flexiblity to pursue other interests in Patient Safety and Quality Assurance actvities. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy hiking, climbing, flying, and mountain biking.
