My Biography
I have been a Kaiser Permanente member since childhood, and I have always wanted to work here. I’ve been pleased with my service as a member. I worked at a VA hospital for 14 years, but spent most of that time endeavoring to get a position at Kaiser San Francisco! I love the diversity of both patients and colleagues I find here, as well as my colleagues’ knowledgeable, cohesive, and familial interactions with one another and with patients.
Kaiser Permanente has made many positive advances in terms of health, testing, prevention, getting the wellness message out, and in terms of the Thrive campaign. Kaiser Permanente takes an interest in its employees, and demonstrates this interest through surveys, recognition programs, and investments in employees (for example, sending people to cutting-edge training opportunities).
My area of special interest is in case management, specifically with regards to the legal aspects of workers’compensation. I keep apprised of current and new guidelines in this area through inservices and conference attendance. I am also certified in urine drug testing.
For fun, I enjoy playing piano, gardening, cooking, and traveling. Most recently, I traveled to Hawai’i, but I have also been to Italy, Mexico and Vancouver. To help myself thrive, I work out at a gym, eat healthy--including many fruits and vegetables--and practice yoga. I have a 13-year-old registered purebred cocker spaniel named Peaches. I live with my husband and my mother.
