My Biography

Undergraduate Education: Bachelor of Science, Moorhead State University (Minnesota)
Medical School and Graduate Education: MA, North Dakota State University; PhD, Professional School of Psychology
Residency Program: Hazelden, Menningers S.F.B.A.
Board Certification: California Board of Psychology Licensed Psychologist (psy19216)
Began Practice: 1985
Joined Kaiser: 1993

I received a Bachelor of Science degree from Moorhead State University in Minnesota, a master’s degree in Education from North Dakota State University, and a PhD from the Professional School of Psychology in California. I have been in practice since 1985, I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1993.

I am both a marriage family therapist ( MFtT) and licensed clinical psychologist (PhD). Born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota, I enjoy fishing, mountian bike riding and cooking. I have been working in the field of addiction treatment since 1984. In my work with substance addicted patients, I like to intergrate a 12 step recovery model with a psychodymanic approach. From 1993 until 2004, I worked at Kaiser SF CDRP on Fillmore Street. In November 2004, I transfered to the Kaiser South San Francisco psychiatry department where I am happy to be part of the CDS team at our new office space at 851 Traeger Ave in San Bruno. I can be reached at 650-742-7268.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
