My Biography

Thank you for visiting my web page. I hope that you find this information and the web links helpful.

As an early adolescent, I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by my wonderful grandfather. He was a kind and gentle man who always took the time to listen to his patients. His love of learning was contagious and had a profound impact upon me.

I grew up on the East Coast and studied and worked in Germany for three summers. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Brown University in Rhode Island, my medical degree from Yale University, and then completed a residency at New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center. I completed my fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco.

I began my professional career in 1991 at California Pacific Medical Center. In 1994, I had a faculty position at Stanford University Medical Center. Since 1996 I have worked for Kaiser Permanente. I specialize in high-risk obstetrics, prenatal diagnosis, and ultrasound. I love working at Kaiser Permanente because we provide superb integrated care. I work with a great team of health care professionals, including my partners Dr. Justin Collingham and Dr. Danny Wu. Our registered nurse, Candace Foote, is an integral part of our team; she is usually the person who triages phone calls and provides general advice. We have other dedicated and caring nurses, medical assistants, nurse practitioners, registered dieticians, genetic counselors, geneticists and educators who are part of our team.

My two children are teenagers, my daughter is an avid soccer player and my son loves to climb and play jazz piano. Our family loves to take advantage of all the city has to offer. We all also enjoy spending time in the outdoors hiking, camping, rafting, river kayaking or in the snow. I love the diversity and beauty of San Francisco and the greater Bay area.
