My Biography

From the time I was a young adult I have been interested in health, exercise and nutrition. I knew that someday I would be working in the medical profession helping people. I began to receive acupuncture treatment in the late 1970’s. This experience inspired me to study Chinese Medicine. I discovered the physical and emotional benefits of acupuncture. I thought how wonderful it would be to pass this experience and knowledge on to others.

As a health care provider, I dreamed of working in a hospital setting with doctorsand other health care professionals. I am very proud and happy to be working at Kaiser Permanente in a multi-disciplinary setting providing the best quality care and services to my patients.

In the Chronic Pain Management Department, my patients benefit from the support of all the team professionals. I am committed to ensuring my patient’s overall experience is a positive one. I truly enjoy seeing patients obtain positive results. I specialize in pain management, HIV/AIDS and substance abuse treatment.

In my leisure time I enjoy bicycling, weight lifting and gardening. I stay healthy and fit engaging in these activities. An old Chinese saying is, If you sleep well and eat well, generally speaking you will feel well. Health care is an everyday activity.

Professional Affiliations: Association of Oriental Medicine; California Acupuncture Association; National Association of Detoxification and Acupuncture

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
