My Biography
I received my certificate in Physical Therapy from the University of California at San Francisco in 1983, beginning my work as a Physical Therapist that same year. I have worked in a variety of acute and outpatient settings. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1999. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), its Orthopedic,Oncology, and Geriatrics Sections and the California Chapter Research Special Interest Group. I am especially interested in exercise prescription and women's health issues, lymphedema management, and the promotion of research in physical therapy practice. I developed a public information presentation on Healthy Bones for Move California, a project of the California American Physical Therapy Association. I enjoy helping members with acute, chronic, and post-surgical conditions manage their pain and regain function. I am committed to helping Kaiser members remain fit and active throughout their lives.
I teach introductory back stabilization and flexibility classes in the physical therapy department. I also coordinate a monthly Breast Recovery Workshop and our department’s lymphedema treatment program. I am fascinated with art and technology and passionate about nature. I like to spend time outdoors gardening and backpacking. I am active in environmental and community organizations and have a special interest in conservation and the leave no trace outdoor ethic.
