Welcome to my practice...

Welcome and thank you for visiting my home page. As a member of a five-physician team I treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms otherwise called cardiac arrhythmias. As part of my practice I perform electrophysiology procedures to identify causes of arrhythmias. I perform catheter ablation procedures to treat certain cardiac arrhythmias. I also implant devices such as cardioverter-defibrillators for the treatment of cardiac arrest and pacemakers for the treatment of a slow heart rate. It is my pleasure to share this information page with you. I look forward to the opportunity to address your heart rhythm problem.

My Background...

I was always interested in the medical field as a profession because I was reared by parents who were both in the medical field. I completed my medical education at Georgetown University in 1990. I did clinical research in Cardiology after finishing college at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. I then became interested in heart rhythm during my residency and pursued a career in cardiac electrophysiology. After finishing my Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship at Stanford University, I was an attending physician there before joining Kaiser Permanente in July 2000. I'm board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine for Cardiovascular Disease and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.

My Philosophy of Care...

My practice philosophy is to educate patients about their condition so they can make an informed choice regarding their treatment options. I also expect my patients to be active participants in this process. My Interests...

  • My professional interests include educating myself on the cause and treatment of arrhythmias.

  • On a personal note, when I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
