My Practice Philosophy

I believe in a strong physician patient communication and relationship to work as a team to help you find a healthy living.

Please Note: Dr.Venkatesh works at Kaiser Permanente Mountain View on Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

About Me

I was born and raised in India. I did my undergraduate and graduate studies in Bangalore, India and received my medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore University.

I completed my Psychiatry residency at the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL in June, 2002. In my final year of training I was Chief Resident for the Outpatient Psychiatry service at the University of Chicago Hospital. I also did an elective in Women's Mental Health in the final year of my residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

In July, 2002 I joined Kaiser Permanente at Santa Clara as an Associate Physician in the Department of Psychiatry. I work both in the Santa Clara and Mountain View facilities. I lead the anti smoking committee and the CME committee in the psychiatry department and serve on the general services team, community service committee and service committee. I am also involved in teaching psychiatry to medical residents.

I am certified as a Diplomate in the Specialty of Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I am a member of the APA and have interests in women’s mental health.

I speak Hindi. I like to sketch pictures and enjoys spending time with her family.

How to Reach Me

Currently the easiest way to contact me is by voicemail which directly reaches her office rather than the reception desk. Please note I work in Kaiser Santa Clara on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays and can be reached at the Santa Clara location at 408-366-4432. I work at the Mountain View psychiatry clinic on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and can be reached at the Mountain View location at 650-903-2860. You can also contact the Psychiatry Nurse at both places. Santa Clara Psychiatry Nurse phone number: 408-366-4400 option 5 and Mountain View Psychiatry Nurse phone number: 408-366-4400 opt 5. At both places either I or the Nurse will get back to you generally by the end of the day or at the latest by the next day.

After business hours 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., you can reach the Regional Call Center by calling the reception number – for Mountain View at (650) 903-2850 and for Santa Clara at 408-366-4400. The call center is staffed by trained mental health professionals who can help you if you cannot wait to get in touch with me the next day.
