My Biography

Kaiser Permanente’s integrated system of comprehensive health care delivery is a superb one in which to work. I need not concern myself with insurance issues, patients’ ability to pay, or getting bogged down in paperwork. I am able to focus fully on the patient in front of me. The benefits to the patient in a health care model such as this one are many. For example, patients can complete their laboratory work here, see referrals, and fill their prescriptions on-site. As a physician, I enjoy the ease of facilitating patients’ access to subspecialties.

Here in the Chinese Module I really get to know my patients, which is the best part about being an internist. At Kaiser Permanente, referrals are simple to enact, as is consulting with fellow clinicians. We have a terrific patient community here as well as a wealth of diversity among our staff members.

Currently, I am engaged in investigative research and a study on hepatitis B, a condition that affects a high proportion of the Asian population. I am interested in exploring hep B treatments and screenings for liver cancer.

I keep healthy and active through playing basketball, bicycling, and endeavoring to walk during my lunch hours. I opt for the stairs over the elevator and try to eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. During my leisure time, I like playing with my 5- and 7-year-old kids, building model cars, ships, and planes, and listening to classical music. I’m also a big fan of Yanni!
