About Me
I had short-lived career aspirations as a boy of racing motorcycles or someday commanding an aircraft carrier. However, by age 11, I knew I wanted to be a pediatrician. That dream never faltered. It finally became a reality, and I now have the honor of caring for your children.
As an East Bay native, I only left the area to complete my medical training at The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, in Southern California. It was there that I was able to integrate sound medical knowledge with a more holistic and caring approach. Perhaps easier said: treat the patient, not the disease. I believe this is essential in empowering patients and families to overcome illness and stay healthy.
When not in the clinic, my passion is my family. My beautiful wife has taken me all over the world; Africa, Southeast Asia, Central America, and Europe. Our travels slowed a bit with the birth of our daughter, Kira Jane, in 2002. They have now temporarily halted with the births of our twin boys, Miles and Conor, in 2005. Though we stay closer to home, we are truly blessed.
During my beloved downtime, I escape to the beach to catch a few waves. “Water on the brain” is what my wife calls my surfing obsession. I also enjoy hiking with our black Labrador, Katina, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
I look forward to a long partnership with your entire family. I hope my contribution will enable your children to maintain good health, follow their dreams, and thrive.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
