My Biography

I was born at the Kaiser-Permanente hospital on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California and have been a member of Kaiser-Permanente for just about my entire life. I joined the Department of Dermatology at the San Francisco Medical Center in 1993. My colleagues and our wonderful support staff strive to make each patient’s visit the best they’ve ever had to a doctor’s office. I enjoy caring for people of all ages. As a physician trained in both Pediatrics and Dermatology, many Pediatricians and Dermatologists refer their young patients to me. I also participate in our Cosmetic Dermatology Program. The program provides a wide variety of services, everything from Botox and laser treatments to the removal of harmless skin growths.

I am proud to be part of a Medical Group that strives to deliver world-class dermatologic care and service to our members, and to do so in the most convenient ways possible. For instance, many of my patients receive advice about their skin by using their kp.org account to send me secure e-mail messages - and even digital photos. Also, at the 2238 Geary and 2200 O'Farrell Medical Office Buildings, a consulting dermatologist is often available to work closely with your primary care physician, should the need arise.

When I’m away from the office I enjoy spending time with my wife, playing guitar, cooking, and maintaining a regular spiritual practice. I also enjoy reading (three of my all-time favorites are One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Brothers Karamazov, and Midnight's Children) and listening to music (anything by Elton John and Joan Armatrading will do).

I consider it a great privilege to be a dermatologist and will try my hardest to provide you (and your family) with compassionate and expert care.
