My Profession and Why I Chose It

My specialty is neurosurgery. I have a passion for applying anatomy and physiology of the brain and spinal cord to neurosurgery. With my scientific knowledge from my Ph.D., I can help heal patients with neurological diseases.

My Credentials

Medical school George Washington University, Washington, DC
Residency Barrow Neurological Institute of St. Joseph's Hospital, Phoenix, AZ
Fellowship Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT
Board certification Neurological Surgery, American Board of Neurological Surgery

My Practice Philosophy

My philosophy is to care, to continue to learn, to communicate the knowledge I have to the patient, to be the patient’s advocate, and to be dependable.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been with Kaiser Permanente for 10 years and have grown with the organization with the help of others. We have developed a clinical functional neuroscience program that deals with patients suffering from motor disorder problems, epilepsy and pain.

Why I Enjoy Working at Kaiser Permanente

I enjoy being at Kaiser Permanente since I work with great colleagues in the clinical functional neurosurgery program. We have continued to improve our care for our patients, done research, represented Kaiser Permanente at national and international meetings, and developed a strong reputation inside and outside of Kaiser Permanente.

My Professional Interests

My professional interests include stereotactic neurosurgery, epilepsy, radiosurgery and functional neurosurgery.

On a Personal Note...

I wa born on Long Island, New York. I went to University of California Berkeley, Stanford, George Washington, Barrow Neurological Institute and Yale for my education. I am extremely close to my family and have a burning desire to learn as much as I can about neurological function. I strongly believe in contributing to our society to advance the common goal.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
