About Me

Hi, my name is Anthony Occhipinti. I am board certified in Emergency Medicine and practice 50% at Morse Ave. and 50% at the Roseville ED. My last name is Italian and it does NOT mean "eight pints" as my mother-in-law first thought! It actually means "Painted(pinti) Eyes(occhi)."

I have been at Kaiser for over 5 years and have enjoyed my practice immensely. The diversity of patients-newborns to centurians-keeps me on my toes. The things that I do in the emergency department don't differ that much from the TV show 'ER' except that there is a lot less drama. There are a lot of medical emergencies, ie heart attacks, abdominal pain, back problems........and a lot of minor problems, ie cuts, scrapes, bumps and bruises. It is very gratifying to identify a problem and do what I can to either fix it or get the patient on the right track to treating it. This could include physical or mental issues and getting the correct consultant involved, ie an orthopedist for a broken bone or a neurologist for a stroke. It is also gratifying to be able and reassure a patient/family member that there worst fears can be put to rest or that i am going to do the best i can to help them.

Even in the short time I am involved with each patient, I find it enjoyable to know a little something personal about a patient. This could be the origin of their name or trying to figure out their accent or how many kids they have.

A little bit about me............I grew up in New Orleans and went to college and medical school there. I enjoy music, running, biking, and travelling to far off places.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
