Benign skin lesions

BENIGN SKIN LESIONS

Dear Kaiser Permanente Health Plan Member:

Benign (harmless) skin lesions diagnosed by your health care provider are of no threat to your health, but can be unpleasant or annoying. In the event that they are visibly red or infected your Kaiser Permanente insurance will cover treatment.

Common benign skin lesions include:

Seborrheic Keratosis: tan to brown, warty, “stuck on” bumps.

Skin Tags: flesh colored, hanging bumps, most common in the folds.

If you would like to have benign skin lesions (such as skin tags, normal moles, and seborrheic keratoses) removed for cosmetic reasons or if you find them annoying, you will now have an alternative to cosmetic dermatology practices outside Kaiser Permanente – Our Sacramento Cosmetic Services Center, where there is no referral required.

Approx. fee schedule: skin tags /seborrheic keratoses (Based on # of 1-10 $125.00 lesions treated) additional 1-10 lesions $100.00

If you desire treatment, please call: (916) 973-6100.

Location: Sacramento Cosmetic Services 2288 Auburn Blvd., Suite #205 Sacramento, CA 95821

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
