Welcome to my home page. My name is Greg Herrera, MD. I have been with Kaiser Permanente since 1980, emphasizing special interests in the surgical aspects of gynecology, gynecological urology, surgery for infertility, and infertility/ reproductive endocrinology. My present position include coordinating fertility services at the South Sacramento Kaiser Hospital and Chairman of the Ob/Gyn Quality Maintenance Committee.

Resident and medical student education is part of my professional activity. I am active with promoting and participating in preceptorship programs for pre-medical students as well as sponsoring international physician exchange training programs.

Aside from taking care of you, my patient, I place my role as a husband and father as important aspects of my life. I also value myself as an active member of my community. As a dedicated martial artist and community activist, I participate in several community organizations teaching women and children how to protect themselves. I am on the board for Child Protective Services. More information can be found selecing the links below. I have been on numerous camping trips with my family; taught my children to backpack, waterski, explore caves, snorkel, how to travel, appreciate tidepools, redwoods, and elegance of a clean breath of fresh air. Our family motto is “Insight and Responsibility go hand-in-hand,” and I have tried to instill this value and live by it as well.

My wife is also a Ob/Gyn physician. Together we share a fond relationship, a loving commitment to raising our son, and enjoy the very special rewards of living life in a blended family.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
