Welcome to My Home Page!

I hope this site provides you with some useful information about me and about your allergy problems. Please check the links I have provided at the left side of this page to be connected to some great educational sites. The Health Encyclopedia is also a fantastic resource where you can look up information on just about any health condition!

I was born in Washington, D.C., but spent my teen years in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was educated at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), receiving my Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry in 1981. After working in the biotechnology industry for 2 years, I moved to San Diego to attend medical school. I then went to UC Irvine to do a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatric Residency, finally completing my training with an Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles.

I joined Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento in 1993. I treat patients of all ages, from infancy to advanced maturity. While providing Allergy care to patients is my primary responsibilty, I also keep busy in Asthma Guideline writing, which allows me to stay current in the most recent asthma developments.

I enjoy helping to educate the next generation of physicians by having Pediatric Resident Physicians and Allergy Fellows from UC Davis visit my office. I am an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Internal Medicine Department at the UC Davis Medical School.

When I'm not working, I enjoy classical music, both as a listener and a performer. I currently play viola in the Camellia Symphony, and I invite you to attend our next concert! My wife and two daughters are also string players, and if you would like to hear some of our area's wonderful young classical musicians, please check out the Sacramento Youth Symphony.

My desire is to provide all my patients with personalized, high quality allergy care to help them manage their allergy problems effectively. Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
