About Me

I was born in the world's biggest democracy, India. I was mostly raised in India, although I had the privilege of attending elementary school in Ohio when my family was in the United States for a few years. I attended medical school at the elite All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. I then started a residency in Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI.

After five years in solo private practice in Michigan, I saw "the light" and decided to come to California. I have been privileged to work with The Permanente Medical Group since 2002. I am proud to be part of an organization whose ideal is to provide high quality, compassionate health care at an affordable price. I believe that we really are in a position to provide excellent care with the wonderful resources that we have.

I enjoy spending time with nature, playing tennis, yoga, and running. I am a firm believer in the mind-body connection. I am convinced that a healthy lifestyle (i.e. physical, mental, and psycho-spiritual balance) is the key to longevity and quality of life. I refer you to the book “Full Catastrophe Living,” by Jon Kabat-Zinn for further reading.

TO GET THE MOST OUT OF OUR APPOINTMENT

1. So that we may maximize our time together, please to arrive 15 minutes early. This will allow enough time for registration, check-in and vital signs.

2. Please bring a list of current medications. If you can bring the actual pill bottles, that is even better!

3. Please get any required lab/x-ray tests at least a week prior to your visit, so that we may discuss them.
