About Me

I first came to know of Kaiser Permanente and its dedication to prevention and quality patient care in 1994. As part of my Master’s degree in Health Education, I was working on a study at the Patient Education Center at Stanford University. I collaborated with a great physician from Kaiser in preventive medicine. He inspired me to focus on promoting health. I strongly believe that prevention and health promotion should be a big part of what we do in medicine. I am very happy to be part of an organization that works toward this goal.

Born and raised in Turkey, I am Fluent in Turkish and English. I received my medical education at the University of Istanbul, Faculty of Medicine in 1988. I received my residency training at St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco where I was named chief resident. During my Chief Residency, I practiced as a hospitalist at Kaiser Redwood City and Oakland Summit Hospital and as an instructor at UCSF’s Urgent Care Clinic. I am board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. I joined the Kaiser Permanente staff of physicians in 2000.

I chose Primary Care because I enjoy getting to know my patients and sharing their stories. Having an ongoing relationship with my patients is very rewarding. I also continue to follow my patients in the hospital. When hospitalized, I believe that patients and their families find a familiar face very comforting. I find it fulfilling to provide that reassurance to my patients. I hope to be able to guide my patients to take control of their health and well-being in addition to treating their illnesses. I hope you find my web page useful in improving your access to information about your health and healthcare.

To make an appointment or to get advice, please call our appointment/advice line a(650)903-3020.

Our goal at Kaiser Permanente is to be your health plan of choice and deliver the quality medical care our members deserve. Thank you again for choosing Kaiser Permanente.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
