My Practice Philosophy

My goal today is to use my knowledge of medicine, science, and people to help my patients’ live long and healthy lives. Each patient I see gives me an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone else’s life. This is the most rewarding part of my profession. I chose to join the Kaiser Permanente community because we share the same beliefs in the importance of preventive medicine. I believe educating the patients is as important as any medicine that I can prescribe, and Kaiser Permanente provides me with the tools to do this.

About Me

I was born in Tehran, Iran. I was eighteen when my family and I immigrated to the Unites States in 1984. I began attending Foothill College in Los Altos Hills and transferred to UC Davis, graduating with a degree in Biochemistry. I graduated from the University of Kansas, School of Medicine in 1995 and stayed on to complete my residency training in 1998. After my residency, I moved back to the Bay Area to be closer to my family. I started working at Kaiser Permanente in 1998.

My Interests

I chose to follow a career in medicine because I was curious about science. I wanted to have a better understanding of how our body functions and be able to identify the different diseases and the impact they have on people and their families. More importantly, I wanted to be able to cure and help people with these ailments. The more I understood how our bodies function, the more empowered I felt and the more passionate I became about medicine.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling. I feel very lucky to live in California, where a short drive can lead to the mountains, the ocean, or the forest. I usually spend my vacations exploring the coastline.

My Credentials

Medical school University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS
Residency University of Kansas School of Medicine, Kansas City, KS
Board certification Family Medicine, American Board of Family Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
