I joined The Permanente Medical Group in July 1985. I initially worked at the Santa Clara Medical Center in the Emergency Department but transferred to Milpitas in 1986. I am now the Chief of the Occupational Health Department and Minor Injury Clinic for this facility.
I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, spent most of my youth in Ohio and later moved to New Jersey. I graduated from New York University, followed by Graduate School at Rutgers University, doing research in Microbiology.
I went on to graduate from the University of New Jersey Medical School and completed my Internal Medicine residency training at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. My honors include Alpha Omega Alpha society, and I am a member of the Santa Clara County Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. When not spending time with my family, I enjoy outdoor activities, including gardening and home repairs, golf, skiing and windsurfing.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
