My Biography

During medical school, I took a trip one summer to San Francisco. I loved the climate, the terrain, and the city’s close proximity to the water. I immediately moved here for my residency. I knew friends who were moonlighting for Kaiser Permanente, and I joined them here after I graduated. I think that Kaiser Permanente’s system provides the best care for patients of any medical system.

My colleagues are terrific. They deliver A+ quality service and really care about their patients. Our comprehensive care is a major strength and we have excellent communication across departments. I like the fact that I can balance clinical work in the Emergency department with my administrative work in San Francisco and with the Regional offices.

I participate in our regional quality EPRP program. I also serve as our department’s Assistant Chief. I have a particular interest in injury prevention. I work in our Injury Center one day per week.

Outside of work, I enjoy skiing, hiking, cooking, kayaking, and my entire family volunteers each summer at a southern California Boy Scout camp. We are currently building a cabin on our 45-acre property in Guerneville. I keep healthy by doing a daily gym workout, eating lots of vegetables, and purchasing fresh produce from farmers markets. My husband and I have a teenaged daughter and a boxer.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
