My Biography

After medical school, an Internship at Los Angeles County Hospital, and two years as a U.S. Army Flight Surgeon I came to San Francisco Kaiser Hospital because I feel the only ethical way to practice medicine is in a prepayment system like Kaiser Permanente.

After 42 years with TPMG I find Internal Medicine ever more exciting. We now have such sophisticated diagnostic tools and effective medicines that it is rewarding to help patients live longer and better. However, the biggest enjoyments are my patients and the interactions with them.

In addition to my role as a physician I am a member of the California Medical Association, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and am a Past President of the San Francisco Medical Society. Outside of my love for medicine I enjoy history, travel and theater.
