Goals for Patient Care

It is my goal to ensure the best possible care for all of my patients. There are many ways to solve problems and get what you medically need. We have many ways to serve your needs including group classes, health education services and knowledgable ancillary staff.

Outside, but integrally related to my clinical responsibilities, I work with many services here at Kaiser Redwood City including the Injection and Travel Medicine Clinic, the HIV clinic, the Hospital Based Services, and with Staff Education for Physicians. I serve on the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, the Innovations Committee and the Infection Control Committee. If you have any suggestions about how to improve the quality of any of these services, I want to hear from you.

A particularly rewarding activity for me is teaching undergraduates and medical students at Stanford. I am an assistant adjunct professor at Stanford University where I teach a class each spring entitled Parasites & Pestilence. In the fall I teach the medical students' microbiology of infectious disease. I volunteer at the Arbor Free Clinic in Menlo Park where I see underserved patients on the weekends.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
