Welcome to my home page!

I am pleased to offer this web site as a means to provide helpful medical information for my patients, as well as an opportunity for you to learn more about me. I hope that through this medium I will be able to better serve you with the most current information, useful handouts, and helpful web links.

update: As of 1/1/08, due to a change in circumstances, I will no longer be a Primary Care Provider in the Medicine Department. I will still be available in the Medicine clinic on Mondays for Urgent/Same Day appointments.

I believe the key to successful patient health is through the partnership between a motivated, well educated patient and the physician. Hopefully, this site will provide you access to pertinent information on health issues important to you. Armed with knowledge, the patient can enter into a respectful discussion with the physician as to how to proceed on health issues, and, hopefully find a path that is mutually acceptable to both parties.

I am proud to be a member of such a quality department and medical group here at Kaiser Permanente San Rafael, and I hope that we can always provide high quality of care and service to you.

As a graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, I did my undergraduate work at UC Berkeley, completed my internship and residency in Southern California, and became board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians in 1989.

My work experience included the full spectrum of medicine: ERs, cruise ship surgeon, occupational and out-patient clinics, group practice with hospital privileges, clinic work at the former Oak Knoll Naval Hospital and most recently, Kaiser of San Francisco. In all these experiences, I have been able to offer OMT (Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy) as an adjunct to my patient's care.

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
