Why I Choose Kaiser Permanente
I have been with Kaiser since 1998 and my specialty is Internal Medicine, which means a special focus on adult medicine. I became interested in this field during my medical training because of my fascination with the aging process of the human body, and the big question of how can we prevent disease or how can we slow down the effects that comes with the natural process of aging? During my six years with Kaiser, I have found that this institution offers two of the things that I value most in medicine that allows me to address my questions: freedom and choice. The freedom to practice the way I think will deliver good medicine and the abundant choices available for me to choose the right medicine and test without having to go through administration.
Kaiser also provides for me an unbelievable amount of support from our sub-specialty colleagues, readily available and only a phone call away. This is most helpful for on-the-spot questions or for more urgent cases that require immediate attention.
My Healthcare Practice
I believe that mainstream medicine does not have all the answers. We do not have all the answers to prevent all diseases and we do not have all the cures, therefore I strongly believe in the significance of open-minded approach to patients who are interested in treatments from other fields of medicine. If the patient wishes, it is important to effectively assist them in finding safe and valuable alternative forms of treatments when available. At the same time, help steer them away from fraudulent and/or harmful untested treatments.
About Me
Presently I am a member of the Osteopathic Medical Association. I am also a member of the Domestic Violence Task Force here at Kaiser, working with the committee to bring greater awareness and education on domestic violence to our patients and health care providers. Outside of Kaiser, I represent Lambda Community Fund to CAPITAL (Counsel of Asian Pacific Islander Together for Advocacy and Leadership), which is a coalition of Asian community groups working together for social justice.
