My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an emergency room physician. This means I take care of people who present to the Emergency Room. I decided to do this because I like providing care for people who are in a critical state.

My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is to provide the most evidence based care available. This means prescribing the most appropriate medication or tests for a situation and sometimes withholding medication or not ordering tests as literature suggests. This is an effort to make sure that the patient is getting the most up to date care that is available.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I joined Kaiser Permanente in July of 2009. I love the Kaiser Permanente system where getting follow-up or specialty care is so readily available. I also love the fact that I am not constrained by HMO's as to what I can and can't order. At Kaiser Permanente the decision making is left up to me.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

  • Member, American College of Emergency Physicians

On a Personal Note. . .

I was born and raised in northern California but left for almost 13 years for college, medical school and post-graduate specialty training. I am very happy to have returned to the area to be able to spend time with family and take advantage of all the Sacramento/Roseville area has to offer.

Be sure to visit the Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
